What actually happens to your data when you use this app — described plainly, matching what the app really does.
Your business profile, clients, saved items, invoices, and estimates are stored in this browser's own local database (IndexedDB), on this device only. There is no server behind this app that your data is sent to or stored on. All of this — including every past invoice and estimate — is included when you export a backup. The one exception is a small display preference (Documents-list sort order), stored separately and not included in your backup file.
The only network request this app makes on its own is loading its on-screen typefaces from Google Fonts the first time you visit; that request never includes any of your business, client, or invoice details. No invoice or client data is ever transmitted anywhere by this app. There are no analytics or advertising scripts running in the app today.
Because everything lives in this browser, clearing this site's data on this device permanently deletes it — there's no copy anywhere else to restore it from. Exporting a backup file before doing that is the only way to keep your data.
When you export a backup, a JSON file is generated and downloaded straight to your device by your browser — this app does not upload it anywhere.
